Merbein Hotel Gig 19/3

Our first real pub gig playing all our own
material. Wasn't sure what to expect, anxious to see how the material
would be recieved. Great crowd, thanks to everyone who made the night.
It was so cool to have such a great response to
our original music. Thanks to the punters who took the time to
come up and give us great feedback at the end of the
night. And also to everyone who turned up to the gig.
Thanks, Rod |

20.5 04 recording the ep

its nice to be back to
normal ( if i was ever normal ) the recording of our ep took lots
of time and energy . its good to have the songs out there and have some
feedback seems good so far. it seemed like it would take forever after
recording most of the tracks with our former drummer and then deciding
it was just not happening.back to the studio with our good friend
Rich Baker who has the knack of knowing just what the songs
need. Rich has since become a fulltime member of mt.i have
got to thank Tim Williams for the use of his studio and his expertise
to mix down our songs.so now we hit the road so check us out and dont
forget to say hi. Rod |

sandbar 25th&26th June

First sandbar gig, not sure how we would go over
with a cover venue. Anabranch opened for us. They were fortunate
that their drummer from glasgow was over here. They hadnt played
together for awhile, but Tim and the boys did a fantastic job. Thanks
guys ! Check out their website at www.anabranch.co.uk.
From the moment we kicked off with crash and burn it was cool to look
out at an audience that seemed to take notice instantly that this was
not something they'd heard before. My Girl brought them into our groove
and they kicked back and enjoyed the ride for the rest of the night.
Hope the crew from Melbourne on their way to Darwin, who were going to
leave early but stayed late, get their in one piece. Thanks to all
those who bought our EP and/or T-shirts. And thanks to the girls behind
the bar. Kelly, dont burn the steaks while listening to the CD.

Hopetoun Hotel 2 7 04

Well Bendigo is just so alive for a country
town, its just like a city. We played the hopetoun with Lacquer, a 3
piece all chick band. They have a great following in bendigo, and
really knew how to warm up a crowd. Hope to do more with them in the
future. Great crowd, very responsive, seemed to get off on the
monkeytin sound. Thanks Patrick for the sound, simon for filming the
night and entertaining us with his documentary of driving through KFC
at 1.30am slightly intoxicated. Hope it gets released. Thanks Adrian
for the Forte magazine interview. Thanks Linda for the use of your
house, and thanks to everyone at the Hopetoun and hope to see you all
at the Golden Vine on the 6th of august.

statement that the early bird catches the worm must be true after an
early start to a 15 hour session we managed to capture on tape
some of what monkeytin is all about .Geoffs got a great
studio and really knows his stuff he all so tells a great yarn
even the one about energy circling the corridors(baker i will not
forget) this place has just turned 25 so you can imagine the
storys the walls could tell. |
